Ecological Education Base
An exciting and interactive education base has been designed with 50 main education display features. There are three buildings with the main building incorporating 3 floors of displays. The ecological education base has been constructed together with a combined wetland water treatment system. A Plan of the education base can be seen
here. In addition to the education base a
schools outreach programme is being planned where staff of Xixi and Xixs conservation/education officer will visit schools free of charge. Xixi wetlands has enlisted the help of Chris Woodㄛan English Biologist and Wetland expert who is working under Zhejiang UniversityㄛChina*s number three Universityㄛand who is currently developing our English language website. He is also busy training a Chinese team in providing Chinese and English education programmes both within the wetland park and as a free education outreach programme entitled &
Dive into Wetlands*to the schools of HangzhouㄛShanghai and throughout Zhejiang Province﹝The education programme combines aspects of English and environmental education such as ※what is a wetlandˋ§ and※why are wetlands importantˋ§,with the aid of an extremely professional powerpoint presentations with many interactive animation features and with many games and prizes﹝Schools are then invited back to Xixi wetlands for a follow up visit﹝ For further information on this or on Xixi*s
